LTM 1160-5.2 Crane

The German construction equipment manufacturer Liebherr revealed its new mobile crane LTM 1160-5.2 early March this year at the Conexpo exhibition in Las Vegas, USA. Due to its reduced width, it is especially suited to be driven on public roads and for use on constricted construction sites.

The 160-tonne vehicle is operated by a single engine with a mechanical shaft while the other cranes of this class use two engines. This innovative concept of Liebherr improves fuel efficiency and generates weight savings. The 6-cylinder Liebherr made diesel engine is compliant with the Directive 97/68/EC – Stage 4 and EPA/CARB – Tiers 4. The LTM 1160-5.2 is a universal crane and will be used for a large variety of lifting jobs around the globe.

The machine for heavy-duty operations is equipped with a specially developed Valeo TM21. The 215cc compressor is designed to last longer in tough construction site environments and has been validated in a dedicated testing facility in Germany.
